No Way Back Events, operated by Recordeon Pty Ltd (ABN 28 060 019 249), is committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

1. What Information We Collect

When you purchase a ticket or interact with our website, we may collect:

  • Name and email address — provided at checkout, used to deliver your ticket and send event communications.
  • Payment information — processed by Stripe on our behalf. We do not store your card number, expiry, or CVV. We only receive confirmation of successful payment and a transaction reference.
  • IP address and device data — collected automatically when you visit our website, used for security, fraud prevention, and analytics.
  • Ticket purchase history — event attended, ticket tier, and purchase amount, retained for accounting and legal compliance.

2. Why We Collect It

  • Ticket fulfilment — to issue, deliver, and validate your tickets at the door.
  • Event communications — to send you important updates about events you have purchased tickets for (e.g., time changes, cancellations, reminders). These are not optional while your ticket is active.
  • Marketing (with consent) — if you opt in, we may send you information about future No Way Back events. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any marketing email.
  • Legal and tax compliance — to meet our obligations under Australian tax and business law, including record-keeping requirements.
  • Fraud prevention and security — to detect and prevent fraudulent ticket use or unauthorised access.

3. Who We Share It With

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the following service providers, strictly to operate our events:

  • Stripe — payment processing. Your payment details are handled exclusively by Stripe. See stripe.com/au/privacy.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery (ticket confirmations, reminders). Your name and email are transmitted to Resend for the sole purpose of sending emails from tickets@nowaybackevents.com.
  • Airtable — our internal database for ticket records, used by door staff to verify tickets at events. Data is stored in Airtable's secure cloud infrastructure.
  • Door staff — event staff may access your name and ticket status for entry verification purposes only.
  • Legal authorities — if required by law, we may disclose your information to law enforcement or regulators.

4. How We Store and Protect Your Data

  • • Our website is hosted on Vercel, a cloud platform with industry-standard security practices including HTTPS encryption in transit.
  • • Ticket and payment records are stored in Stripe and Airtable, both of which maintain SOC 2 compliance and encryption at rest.
  • • Access to customer data is restricted to authorised personnel only.
  • • We do not store payment card details on our own servers at any point.
  • • While we take reasonable precautions, no data transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to take care with your personal information.

5. Data Retention

  • • Ticket and payment records are retained for 7 years from the date of purchase, as required under Australian tax and business law (including the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997 and ASIC record-keeping requirements).
  • • Marketing consent records are retained until you withdraw consent.
  • • After the retention period, records are securely deleted or de-identified.

6. Cookies and Tracking

  • • Our website uses the Meta Pixel (Facebook) to measure advertising effectiveness. This may involve setting cookies in your browser and sharing event data (such as page views and purchases) with Meta Platforms, Inc.
  • • You can opt out of Meta's ad targeting at facebook.com/adpreferences.
  • • We do not use analytics platforms that track you across other websites (e.g. Google Analytics is not installed).

7. Your Rights

Under the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction — request that we correct any inaccurate or outdated information.
  • Deletion — request that we delete your personal information, subject to our legal retention obligations (see Section 5).

  • Complain — if you believe we have breached the APPs, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address in Section 8. We will respond within 30 days.
